History of Terrence Boot Terrence Boot was born on January 13th, 1980 to Robert and Janine Boot. His father met his mother 4 years beforehand at a restaurant. Robert was running late for a business dinner and knocked into a waiter, which caused not one, but two dinners to spill on Janine, who had been sitting at a nearby table. While they were cleaning up the mess, the two began talking and instantly hit it off. Though Janine was seeing someone at the time, they became instant friends. It wasn't long before Janine became single again and their friendship grew into something more. It was during this time that Janine tested their relationship by revealing she was a witch, and though Robert was shocked at first, he grew into the idea and accepted it fully. They dated for 2 years before they were married and 4 months later Janine became pregnant. The Boots ended up having 2 sons, Joshua and Terry. Hardly a year apart in age, in exchange for being the eldest, Joshua was not given his mother's magical abilities. The Boot boys were always close as children, most likely due to their close proximity in age, though Joshua never wasted an opportunity to prank or tease his little brother. When Joshua didn't get a letter to Hogwarts, the family assumed Terry wouldn't either. However, when the summer after his 11th birthday came, so did a Hogwarts letter. His mother was ecstatic that one of her children had magic as well, as was Robert. Joshua claimed to be happy for his brother, but a change in their relationship reflected otherwise. The two stopped talking as much and they became distant. They belonged to different worlds, and Terry felt as though he'd lost his best friend. The loss of his brother, in a manner of speaking, caused an unspoken rift in the family. Though Terry went home every holiday, he spent a lot of time in his room or out taking walks. The wizarding world had changed him, and though he loved it, he wasn't really a part of the family anymore. Born good-natured, Terry enjoys things to be either one of two extremes: peaceful and quiet or exciting and rowdy, though most of time he's prefer the first. He's very indecisive, taking as long as he's given to make a big decision, sometimes even longer. Naturally intelligent, Terry studied in small amounts, always making sure there was some time for fun and relaxation. Grades were important, but making sure one's life was lived was even more important to him. Rather an referring to himself as a thinker, as per his Hogwarts house of Ravenclaw, he likes to refer to himself as an explorer. Ravenclaw characteristics mixed with the desire to understand and learn about the world by not just reading and studying but by experiencing as well. A first impression would tell you Terry is shy, though in a group of friends you wouldn't see that. He can become very sarcastic sometimes, whether with jokes or not, and doesn't think before he speaks when he's worked up; normally he would think through every word before uttering a single syllable. In awkward situations he sometimes tries to make a joke, and other times he might just start laughing for no reason or constantly clearing his throat. When Terry is truly upset, you know it. His entire demeanor changes from a shy and quirky to serious, on-the-offense and determined. All his life Terry wanted to study History; growing up he collected books and read up on the histories of all the different parts of the world, hoping to travel and see everything one day. Once in the wizarding world, he couldn't help but go through the entire history section by the time he was halfway through his third year. This love is also reflected by his sorted house of Ravenclaw. Other loves that Terry has gained, aside from exploring, are dueling and Quidditch, though he never pursued them after school by becoming neither an Auror, Hit Wizard, or professional Quidditch player. Instead, Terry settled on a compromise and works in the Ministry's Department of Magical Games and Sports. Not only is he part of organizing such events as the Quidditch World Cup where he has the ability to meet players and gets free tickets to just about every event, but he is able to travel around the world and do his exploring while he's checking on teams and working with other countries for future Sport's events.  | |||||||||
